BPCE Emotional Design Grammar

Goal

"Provide us an "emotional" aspect to the consumer bank app in two weeks of budget" with a tiny budget was the brief from the client in short. The design needs to be deployed to two different banks of the group.

Approach

We decided on keeping the app UI flow to keep the familiarity with the current app and focus on how to create an emotional attachment to the app.  We chose to use subtle interaction and sound and haptics. We straighten up the visual design with the rigor of typography and color for legibility.

Challenge

Not being there to explain the concept in-house means that you need to leave as much detail as possible.  Supplying a visual explanation of the movement outside the prototype is time-consuming. How many resources-time do you need to create robust documentation? A point neglected by so many people.
